Cypress Park Council Approves Budget, Rejects Board Applicant
Draft July 14 minutes record a unanimous budget vote, discussion of veterans memorial repairs and a planned Avenue 27 encampment cleanup.
Greater Cypress Park Neighborhood Council · Governing Board · Tuesday, July 14, 2026
The short version
1.The board approved its 2026–27 financial package unanimously. The treasurer described a $25,000 budget plus about $4,000 carried over, but the listed spending figures do not clearly reconcile with that total.
2.All five members present voted to deny Susan Rocha a board seat. The minutes give no reason for the denial; Julio Galvez’s retirement was also announced as creating a vacancy.
3.An LAPD update said an Avenue 27 encampment cleanup would include impounding some vehicles. No date was given.
4.Members discussed helping repair a veterans memorial flagpole after a car damaged it and cracked the plaque. Further discussion was planned for the next meeting.
5.The developer of two six-story buildings at 3200–3244 N. Figueroa Street supplied written answers about access, zoning and intended customers. No project vote was recorded.
